A group leader takes you
around the cross-country course. He/She
will give you verbal instruction on bike
controls and a reminder of track rules before
you begin.
-
The course begins in two
level grass fields with obstacles in the
fields and a dugout ditch between them.
This is a warm up area used to get everyone
handling their bikes with confidence.
-
You then travel down a
lane into a field with obstacles on a brow,
after this section you drive along a stream,
then up a lane to start on a big man-made
dugout section below ground level. This
is the most challenging section of the track
with hairpin bends, hills and hollows, steps,
twists and turns etc.(This section is not
covered in the half hour session).
-
Finally you do some more
level track and return back down a narrow
country lane to where you began. PHEW!!!!
